Classy and Sophisticated Red Lips Look

Bonjour! It has been a prolific week for this blog. Today I'm going to share the Red Lips look with y'all. Some people love it, some well, not so much. I happen to LOVE this look when paired with classy black dress, turtleneck or black lace. To be honest, I only wear this color when I am in a very daring mood. Feeling dangerous? Try it! You'll turn heads for sure.

I just cut my bangs short. At first I didn't feel that it suits me but my friends think that it is a nice change as I only had one hairstyle for a long time.
I prep my skin with
Revlon Colorstay in Warm Golden
MAC NC25 Powder
Elianto Mousse Blusher in Berry Pink (This blusher gives the "dewy" wet effect that looks fresh and natural)

For the eyes,
I lined it with Maybelline Gel Eyeliner in Black
laced 2 coats of Maybelline Volum Express Mascara
Apply the White eyeshadow on the inner waterline
Taupe eyeshadow on lid
Mauve eyeshadow on crease

Notice that my brow is lighter?
I used Stage Brow Pencil in Sesame
and laced with
Heavy Rotation Eyebrow Concealer (SaSa)

If you have light hair, you may soften the look of your brows with this concealer. The color of your brow should actually be slightly lighter than your hair.

I found this hair sponge that helps create this bun. I have fine hair so this sponge helps add volume to this updo.

For the Lips,
I applied Stage Concealer in Sand all over my lips before
I lined the lips with Rimell Lipliner in Ravish
and fill the lips with MAC Viva Glam 1.
My sister used the same kind of lipstick for her previous Femme Fatale Post (she used me as her mannequin lol)

Last pic with Flash. Notice my light brows?

Ok peeps. I hope you enjoyed this post. Give the red a try if you'd like.

Smoldering Smokey Brown Eyes Editorial Look

Ola!!! I'd like to share my makeup look for the day. I am inspired by the advertisement below and it reminds me of Charlize Theron smoldering eyes. It's so alluring and sexy. Yes, it is quite editorial and I simply love this sophisticated make up look!

Above: the rich dark brown and bronze on the eyes created a "deep eye socket" effect and coral lipstick completes the dreamy look.

My version is as below
I tried to simulate the look with the tools I have. The best thing is we don't need expensive items to create this look.

Skin:
Primer Opening Act by Stage
Revlon Colorstay in Warm Golden
Miyami in Medium

Cheeks
Stage blusher in Snapdragon
For shading near nose bridge and cheek I used a taupe color (right)

Eyes
I used a mix of different colors.
Clinique (upper left) in Strike it Rich for the Lid
White glitter (upper right) for tearduct (Brand is Orma). Thanks kakak for this eyeshadow!
For the crease, I mixed Red Earth Cleopatra and dark brown eyeshadow from the palette to achieve the deep dark brown color.
For the brow bone, I used a matte white eyeshadow to heighten my brow line.

Here's how it looks. Blending was crucial.
As usual, the upper lid was lined with Revlon Colorstay in Black and to soften the line, I applied dark brown eyeshadow on top of the eyeliner.
Mascara used is Volum Express by Maybelline

For lips, I used Loreal  in Coral Glimmer and layered Loreal Hips Lipgloss in Pixie. Oh by the way, the coral was kind of rich and to create a lighter shade, I mixed a little foundation on my lip to create the nude-coral color.

The final look. I hope it has the "smoldering eye" feel.

Picture with Flash for your reference.

Kim Kardashian Inspired Look

Hello ladies and ladiesman!

I have been tagged by my lovely sister Shazreeyana who did an Angelina Jolie-inspired look. In this assignment, I need to pick a celebrity and do a signature look she/he is famous for. I picked Kim Kardashian.

Kim is famous for her smokey sexy eye make up with thick mascara and eyeliner so this is my take on her look. She is also known for her nude lips and this is the secret to draw all the attention to her BIG eyes.

above: products used

Skin: Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Warm Golden
Miyami Powder in Medium

Cheeks: Stage Blusher in Freesia

Eyes: RedEarth Eyeliner in Black
Volum Express Mascara in Black
Eyeshadow from Almay (Gray and Silver)
Black Eyeshadow from Cosway palatte (you can use any black eyeshadow)

Lips: Faux by Mac +some foundation

above: Kim uses intense silver, gray and black on her eyes

For the cheeks, Kim uses coral color and I matched this with Freesia blusher from Stage.

To make the eye more dramatic, I used false eyelashes at the outer corner of my eyes after applying 3 coats of mascara.

It's all about the eyes. The lips are kept nude to not distract the attention from the eye. I used Faux by MAC and blended it with a bit of foundation to make it more nude.

The brows are drawn in more intensely than usual to match Kim's thick brows.

Done!!
It was so much fun trying this out! Thanks Kakak for tagging me. It was a fun post to create!
